Okay, so I must admit that when I first heard about this new fitness system, I thought, “what the heck is a tactical fitness program?”
Honestly, I initially thought it was probably just some made up term to help make it sound cool, but after taking a hard look at who Todd Lamb is and what his system is all about, I understood it and it’s actually quite impressive.
Really, Todd’s system is more than a just an exercise program. It’s a blueprint on how to become an alpha male with a rock hard “power-physique” by incorporating fitness, nutrition, hormone level optimization, and behavioral science techniques.

So Who Is SWAT Leader And Certified Tactical Fitness Expert Todd Lamb?
Naturally, I wanted to find out the man behind this product… Who is this guy? Todd’s got an impressive resume. He’s a SWAT team leader and well-known tactical fitness consultant. I took this as a positive sign for the quality of the product. I mean the way I see it – it’s pretty important that a product is created by somebody who’s got the experience and qualifications to teaching what they’re selling.
Todd decided to develop his system because he looked around at what we’ve become as a society and was pretty much disgusted by what he saw. He got tired of the “sissification” of our culture. He cites to scientific studies that have shown that there are toxins in the environment that affect male hormone levels by introducing female hormones such as estrogen into our systems. Feel free to look this up for yourselves, because I did and it’s pretty freaky stuff! Not only are female-mimicking hormones entering men’s bodies from pollutants in the environment, but our culture as a whole has tolerated and even encouraged the “sissification” of men in general. This is what Todd’s system is all about… helping men reclaim dominant alpha male status. I found this to be a noble cause for sure.
“How exactly is all that accomplished?” you may ask (because I certainly did). Well, continue reading and I’ll do my best to explain…
What Is Todd’s SpecForce System All About?
The core of Todd’s system is what he calls his three “alpha shape secrets”. The first one is that you can add rock hard muscle WITHOUT going to the gym at all. I’ve actually been a strong advocate of this for a long time. You can be in top physical condition without ever stepping foot inside a gym. Todd’s system is designed to accomplish this through a series of specific bodyweight exercises. He calls it his Target Focused Muscle technique, which promises to be the BEST way to pack on muscle fast. This makes sense to me. After all, special forces operators don’t spend all their time in the gym, they pack on the muscle by targeting specific muscles with body weight exercises.
The second secret is where the science comes in. It’s a scientific fact that female-mimicking hormones called xenoestrogens are in environmental pollutants and we’re bombarded by these hormones on a daily basis. Not good if you’re a man, right? What’s worse is that when you gain fat, your body produces more estrogen, the female hormone. Double whammy! What I like about Todd’s system is that it’s specifically designed to offset these unwanted hormones through an innovative approach to fitness that’s based on lipolysis fitness and nutrition principles. TRANSLATION: A fitness and nutrition routine that targets the metabolism to make it EASIER for you to burn fat, gain muscle, and reach optimum testosterone levels.
The third “secret” is about breaking what’s called the beta male cycle. Cortisol (AKA the stress hormone) is the alpha male’s worst enemy. When cortisol levels are high, testosterone levels fall. Here’s where the behavioral science comes in. Todd cites to studies that have shown that displaying a “beta male” posture actually causes cortisol levels to soar in as little as 2 minutes. Conversely, displaying confidence and alpha male traits increase testosterone levels and decrease cortisol levels. In a nutshell, the system is designed break the “beta male cycle” by providing you with techniques to make cortisol levels plummet.
Ok, So What DO You Actually Get With This Program?
The main guide comes in the form of a downloadable e-book. Also included is a coaching video and an app that can be downloaded directly to your PC, tablet or smartphone. The guide includes a seven-day training cycle taken directly from the training of special forces operators. Those guys are straight up jacked, so I like that the guide takes a page directly from their book. The guide includes the exact set and rep program that increases growth hormone to speed up fat loss. It also provides a macronutrient strategy to keep testosterone levels at optimal rates so you can basically eat whatever you want, which is awesome.
There’s a lot of bonus material available as well. First, there’s a guidebook called 7-Day Testosterone Solution that provides you with a list of all-natural foods and supplements that reverse estrogen levels and increase testosterone. This probably contains the most important information in the whole system because of how crucial hormones are in muscle development and fat loss.
Second, there’s the Black Ops MacroFlex Diet App, which can be downloaded directly to your smartphone and will tell you what you need to eat for optimal muscle gain or fat loss. The convenience factor is nice here because you can easily take this wherever you go.
Finally, there’s the Alpha-Status Handbook that is a guide to embracing alpha male status. It includes behavioral science tips to instantly look for masculine such as posture, conversation techniques and body language tips to draw the attention of women. I like the attention Todd pays to confidence building techniques here, because confidence is so important in helping you lower cortisol levels.
The Upside…
For starters, I like that the program’s exercises can be performed in as little as 20 minutes. For those of us with super busy lives, this is a HUGE benefit. I also liked that it’s cost effective since there’s no need for any special exercise equipment and all the exercises can be done in the privacy of your own home. It’s nice to know you can get ripped without shelling out a hundred bucks every month for a gym membership. Finally, I like that it’s so comprehensive, covering everything from fitness to nutrition to confidence-building methods.
Any Downside?
I don’t think this system is for everyone. I think people looking for a super quick solution will be disappointed. Some of the exercises require time and practice. So, yeah, it’s not something designed to help lazy dudes become alpha males. But hey, who said becoming an alpha male wouldn’t require a little work?
My Recommendation…
My take on Lamb’s system is that it’s an interesting and unique program.
